The Heart Behind Shopsy Dropsy
Welcome to Shopsy Dropsy — the electric bike & tent shop with big hearts, helping hands, zero pushy salespeople, and our Chief Entertainment Officer, Dropsy the blue schnauzer, who firmly believes fun is part of the job.
I grew up on a Pennsylvania dairy farm with four sisters and two incredible parents, where I learned early what truly matters: hard work, integrity, and showing up when someone needs a hand. Summers were packed with adventure — my sisters and I would set up our uncle’s World War II tent in the backyard and camp out for days. Those nights sparked a lifelong love of the outdoors, and that spirit still fuels everything we do today.
Life took me from the Air Force, to 20+ years in engineering, then into real estate and mortgages in CA — where I learned that business done right isn’t about pressure or quick deals, it’s about people. Clients trusted us, came back, and referred friends because we cared just as much as we knew our stuff.
Eight years ago, life shifted again when I moved back home to care for my mom, who was 89 at the time. She’s now almost 97, still living in her own home with my help. This business became the perfect way to support her — and to build something meaningful that I genuinely love and plan to keep growing for many, many years to come.
That “something” is e-bikes and outdoor adventure. I’ve always been a rider, but once I discovered e-bikes, I was hooked — total game changer. A few years back, I ran a successful e-bike shop. When COVID and supply chain chaos hit, I chose to close rather than compromise the high standards we’d set. The passion never left, and now we’re back — with fresh energy, hard-earned lessons, and an even deeper commitment to helping you ride, camp, and explore with ease and fun.
After years of riding, tinkering, and learning everything I could, I teamed up with a small (but mighty!) crew who share the same values — integrity, hard work, heart, and plenty of laughter along the way.
So here we are: an e-bike and outdoor gear shop built on farm-strong values, powered by experience, sprinkled with Dropsy’s playful charm, and rooted in a genuine love of adventure. Whether you’re commuting, cruising, mountain biking, camping, or just riding for fun, we’ve got your back — and your bike, tent, and gear.
We kicked things off with a carefully chosen lineup of affordable e-bike brands and tents we truly love — smooth rides, solid quality, and serious fun. Our e-bikes won’t break the bank, and while some tents carry a higher price, they’re built for adventure and lasting memories. More bikes, tents, and gear are rolling in soon, so check back often — we’re just getting started.
