🐾 The Heart Behind Shopsy Dropsy

Welcome to Shopsy Dropsy — the electric bike & tent shop with big hearts, helping hands, zero pushy salespeople, and our Chief Entertainment Officer, Dropsy the blue schnauzer, who insists fun is part of the job.

I grew up on a Pennsylvania dairy farm with four sisters and two amazing parents, where I learned early the things that matter most: hard work, integrity, and showing up when someone needs a hand. Summers were full of adventures — my sisters and I would set up our uncle’s World War II tent in the backyard and camp out for days. Those nights sparked a love of the outdoors that’s stayed with me ever since, which is why we now offer tents, e-bikes, and gear designed to get you outside — riding, camping, and exploring your way.

Life carried me from the Air Force to 20+ years in engineering, then into real estate — where I discovered that business done right isn’t just about deals, it’s about people. Clients trusted us, referred us, and came back, because we cared as much as we knew our stuff.

Seven and a half years ago, life took another turn when I moved back home to care for my then 89-year-old mom. She’s now 96, still living in her own home with my help, and this business has become the perfect way to support her while doing something I truly love.

That “something” is e-bikes and outdoor adventure. I’ve always been a rider, but once I discovered e-bikes, I was hooked — total game changer. A few years back, I even ran a successful e-bike shop. When COVID and the supply chain chaos hit, I chose to close rather than lower the high standards we’d set. The passion never left, though, and now we’re back — with fresh energy, lessons learned, and an even bigger commitment to helping you ride, camp, and explore outdoors with ease and fun.

After years of riding, tinkering, and learning everything I could, I teamed up with a small (but mighty!) crew who share the same values — integrity, hard work, and heart — with plenty of laughter along the way.

So here we are: an e-bike and outdoor gear shop built on farm-strong values, powered by experience, sprinkled with Dropsy’s playful charm, and rooted in a love of adventure. Whether you’re mountain biking, commuting, camping, or just cruising for fun, we’ve got your back (and your bike).

We kicked things off with a few affordable e-bike brands and tents we love — great quality, smooth rides, serious fun — so you can explore the outdoors your way, whether that’s commuting, cruising, hitting the trails, or camping. Our e-bikes won’t break the bank, and while some of the tents may carry a higher price, they’re built for adventure and lasting memories.
